
D. Bruce Johnston serves as President and CEO of Advisolocity. With close to 30-years of experience in the distribution of mutual funds, SMAs and variable annuities, he has a long track record for developing and implementing distribution strategies in the retail distribution of mutual funds, SMA products and RIA marketplace.
Bruce is known for his extensive experience in researching retail distribution and RIA practice management needs and applying his knowledge to the development of many innovative and award-winning value-added programs. Through his recent position as President and CEO of Old Mutual Investment Partners (OMIP), he was responsible for overseeing the growth of that firm’s newly created RIA distribution channel.
In 2007, his OMIP program, “The Essentials of Growth”, was named “Best in Class” by the Mutual Fund Educational Alliance, in addition to eight other programs, which ranged from client communications to asset retention and RIA/advisor communications. The quality of these programs was cited by decision makers at Schwab Institutional as a primary reason for including and promoting Old Mutual Funds throughout the Schwab system.
He was named Mutual Fund Marketer of the Year by Institutional Investor for the ground-breaking practice management program he built for Conseco Funds while president there.
As a consultant, Bruce makes himself available to retail institutional service providers looking for guidance and assistance in developing strategies to expand their channel distribution presence.
He is a featured author for Ignites, FundFire and MFWire, three widely recognized sources of news about the mutual fund and wealth management industries. He is also a founding member of the Value-Added Institute with best-selling writer Scott McKain, author of The Ultimate Client Experience.
